What Is a Molding Press?
A molding press uses controlled heat and hydraulic pressure to shape materials into a matched metal mold. The heat also serves to cure the material. We offer bulk molding compound (BMC), thermoset, thermoplastic, and sheet molding compound (SMC) presses for various materials commonly used in these processes.
Williams, White & Company offers various features to enhance the molding process. For example, in-mold coating or interfacing enables you to apply a coating during the molding process, consolidating steps. Other features include recipe storage to save complete parameter sets based on part number and vacuum systems that evacuate the mold cavity before closing.
