1.0 Summary
The Saw and Plasma Cutter Operator is responsible for cutting metal components using industrial saws and CNC plasma cutting machines. This role requires mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
2.0 Essential Functions
- Operates saw(s) and/or Plasma machines in processing of Raw Material.
- Read blueprints, work orders, technical drawings, and use measuring tools.
- 1+ year of metal fabrication.
- Basic math skills (fractions, decimals).
- Setup CNC plasma cutter by utilizing software Lincoln Torchmate. Preferred experience but not required.
- Computer experience.
- Forklift and/or crane used to move materials.
- Issue material from the warehouse to fabrication.
- Knowledge of receiving procedures preferred.
- Ability to read cut sheets and fabrication drawings.
- Use measuring instruments, tape measure, caliper, etc.
- Perform accurate and complete record keeping.
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
- Keep working area clean and organized.
- Experience with using a inventory management software. Example: Epicor or equivalent.
- Verifies and keeps records on incoming shipments of raw material.
- Verifies physical dimensions and processes incoming raw materials.
- Occasionally unloads, unpacks and examines incoming shipments. Rejects damaged items, records shortages.
- Interfaces with Quality Manager in regard to review and storage of material records such as Receiving Inspection Report, Material Cert’s, etc.…
- Discharges inventory/material from the warehouse to fabrication/assembly floor for consumption.
- Must be willing to participate in specialized training as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Additional work hours as needed.
- Understands and complies with requirements of the QMS, AS9100, and/or ISO 9001.
- Travels on an as required basis.
3.0 Qualifications and Skills
Preferred:
- Experience with Plasma Cutter and running a saw.
- Inventory management software experience.
- Basic knowledge of Reading blueprints, work orders, technical drawings, and using measuring tools.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of receiving procedures.
